Synopsis

In this workshop we look at the complex challenges of teaching critical thinking across the disciplines and seek to learn from the student experience. The workshop is based on an empirical research project that examined student perspectives of learning to think critically. It was conducted by a small team of students who were mentored by the workshop facilitators. We then explore a generic model of critical thinking that emerged from the data, and the outcomes of new discussion will help further refine this. The aim is for participants to re-examine their current methods of teaching for critical thinking and gain some new ideas to improve practices.
